WHEN

2008-2020

“We worked closely with The Challenge from (almost) day one - throughout it’s 12 year life including when it became the biggest provider of the National Citizen Service. Throughout this relationship we helped shape the brand communications as well as develop the programme creative assets - to pushing the organization into the digital age to much success.”

PROJECT

The Challenge threw down the gauntlet to create an interactive web app that helped their candidates get ready for NCS Summer and Autumn programmes.

Meeting Summer 2018 deadline, the NCS Summer Guide packaged up and launched without a hitch, reaching 31,000 users in its first month.

As the user interacts with the guide, they start getting introduced to location-based content from past NCS candidates that are local to them, sharing their experiences with familiarity, right down to their local dialect.

One key feature of the guide was enabling candidates to get ready for their summer or autumn programmes by providing an interactive packing list which they could complete and email to themselves as they progressed.

RESULTS

Throughout the NCS 2018 Summer Programme, there were a total of 85,278 users accessing over half a million pages. Over 300k interactions recorded on the site included 4,061 packing lists shared and 4,221 people taking the NCS Pledge.

“Being so closely involved with an organization that was on such a confident mission was truly inspiring. Seeing the positive impact the work was having on the young people was so rewarding. The power of good design helped communicate this message and story in the right way to engage with the audience.”
